Below is one of my favorites, a buffet set with casual elegance. This collection by Godinger includes gold rimmed porcelain dinnerware accompanied by gold accented stainless flatware stored and ready for use in a bronzed caddy. Usually available seasonally. In the meantime, you may be able to find this set and many more online for quite the discount or assemble a similar buffet of your own style with favorite coordinating pieces.

Among various other Better Homes and Gardens collections to choose from, available seasonally for fall is the "Harvest" tableware line - featuring a mix of solid colors and Autumn leaves. This product can also be used throughout the year as only the 8.5" plates and a few of the accent pieces have design. 12 piece, service for 4 sets are offered in choices of the following color schemes: Cream, Deep Red, Sage Green, and Harvest Orange. A great value from Wal-Mart. Open stock items including a turkey platter are usually sold in stores if not online. Worth mention, pieces are generously sized. The salad/dessert plates are large enough for lunch or a light supper. Concerned about quality? Don't be. Read the reviews. These products are well made, attractive, and durable.

A favorite accent piece is a 10" diameter or slightly larger covered pumpkin pie plate, which has many uses.

These are a must have, because they are not only decorative but also functional and fun. Shown to the left is a delightful covered pumpkin pie plate from the Better Homes and Gardens Harvest collection. High quality with simply gorgeous detail and the bottom half is oven safe. Although this particular item is now discontinued, similar items can still be found.
