VINTAGE CORELLE

Corelle is one of the most popular dinnerware brands known throughout the world, and it's really no wonder why.
Simply put, Corelle offers what others do not.
  • Quality Made in the USA
  • Lead Free
  • Lighter in weight than other products
  • Space saving stack-ability
  • Extremely durable, breakage and chip resistant
  • Available in hundreds of patterns, styles, and square or round silhouettes
  • Affordable

What are we missing here?
Those of us who own discontinued Corelle would love to add to our collections but most patterns are retired over a certain period of time, which prevents us from doing so. This can be a huge disappointment. We look into replacement websites hoping they'll have our pattern in stock. Sometimes they do... but more often than not, suitable pieces cannot be located.
The same is true for online auctions. Especially if you have a highly sought after retired pattern. You may either find items in deplorable condition from years of abuse or none of what you seek at all. And if you are lucky enough to come across your pattern in decent condition, usually the price is overwhelming.

So I'm thinking.
Corelle launched the Boutique product line in 2013, featuring stylish embossed designs with the look and feel of finer dinnerware.
Yes they are nice, and popular too. But this collection doesn't really impress those of us who love our discontinued patterns - or those who are drawn to vintage dinnerware - Corelle and otherwise.

What to do?
Question:
Would you purchase if Corelle offered a new "Vintage" product line? A few re-released discontinued favorites as well as new designs in patterns and solids that embrace the true classic look of vintage dinnerware?
I know I would.
So I'm wondering... if Corelle receives enough requests from consumers, would they re-release one or two (still wildly popular and coveted) retired patterns to test drive this idea?
I believe that could be a win-win situation.
Invested fans of discontinued Corelle would get another chance to stock up on old favorites - along with fans of Corelle in general.
A product line like that would also appeal to a new group of vintage/modernistic/retro style consumers to fit their preferences, budgets and lifestyles, all while Corelle reaps the benefits of skyrocketing sales.
I'm quite sure that I am not the only one who has thought of this.
But a plan must be executed by action.
I'm certain the company must receive an overwhelming amount of requests for something like this to happen before they would even consider the possibilities.
So... if you like this idea, PLEASE DO contact Corelle.
It cannot hurt to try, right? What do you think?

IN EXAMPLE
Since we know tabletop products are usually created to compliment home fashion trends, I've done some research and made comparisons using a few popular and discontinued Corelle items...
Finer dinnerware is almost always reserved for special occasions.
But the versatile nature of Corelle allows for the best of both worlds - every day dining as well as entertaining, never having to worry about expensive replacements. AND we save money doing so.

1. The well known Royal Albert Old Country Roses and Moonlight Rose fine china collections are beautiful and high in quality. However, who would use this on a daily basis? Not many.

CORELLE ELEGANT ROSE

In contrast, the coveted Corelle Elegant Rose pattern is definitely nice enough for company while suitable for every day use as well. Note the delicate fluted rims accented by a realistic rose pattern, imitating fine china quite nicely with vintage style. This pattern is one of the most sought after of all retired Corelle products, almost impossible to find in acceptable condition. Not only is it beautiful, but practical.

CORELLE BLUE VELVET
Corelle Blue Velvet is also wildly popular, designed in much the same way as Elegant Rose. Featuring gorgeous fluting throughout the pieces, (as does Elegant Rose) this romantic rose pattern in blue also mimics finer dinnerware and is attractively vintage in appearance.

Appropriate for casual dining as well as more formal occasions, you can definitely add your own personal touches to "dress up" these lovely collections for entertaining. I do own both of these patterns and have been complimented while serving guests. They are always very surprised to learn that this is Corelle :)

THE TIMELESS SOLID COLOR TREND
More casually styled products that come to mind are solid colors, which continue to be a favored choice among consumers. Of course, we all wish Corelle would offer solid color collections. These would definitely fit nicely into a Vintage category if designed in such a way ;) Maybe to include unique unapologetic hues in a standard smooth rim style? Mint green is just a gorgeous vintage color...!

IF YOU AGREE WITH THIS POST  PLEASE DO contact Corelle. Tell your friends and family, your co-workers and everyone else. Send email requests to the Corporate Office using the official website, or post comments ( and send messages ) via the Corelle Facebook page.

The more requests, the more likely Corelle will listen. Here is a great example. Corelle Winter Holly - designed exclusively for the Holiday season; was discontinued many years ago. Due to popular demand, an updated version was re-released in 2014. It happened because consumers like us made our requests known.
This is just an idea, mind you. But I believe strongly that we have a chance if enough fans voice their opinion.

Thanks for visiting :)
